Nigeria Through to U-17 WWCQ Final Round

Nigeria has advanced to the final round of the African qualification series for this year’s FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup after a commanding 7-1 aggregate victory over Burkina Faso.

The match held in Abuja, saw a scoreless first half before Nigeria, led by coach Bankole Olowookere, surged ahead with six goals.

 

 

Harmony Chidi was the standout performer, scoring a hat-trick with goals in the 11th, 74th, and 86th minutes.

Peace Effiong contributed a brace with goals in the 34th and 89th minutes, while Ramota Kareem added a goal in the 84th minute.

This decisive victory secures Nigeria’s place in the final qualification round, where they will face the winner of the Senegal and Liberia fixture.

The first leg of the final round is scheduled for June 8th.
