Technical director of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria, Samuel Onikeku has stated that the body will not relent in its efforts to ensure that Nigeria leaves the Category A doping pool.

Technical director of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria, Samuel Onikeku has stated that the body will not relent in its efforts to ensure that Nigeria leaves the Category A doping pool.

Nigeria is on the Athletics Integrity Unit’s list of high potential doping Federations and there has been high profile cases in recent times involving Blessing Okagbare, Divine Oduduru and Grace Nwokocha.

 

 

In an interview on Brila FM, this Wednesday, Onikeku assured that the AFN has intensified its strategy towards saving Nigeria Athletics.

The AFN chief also bemoaned the recent news of the AIU suspending World Champion, Tobi Amusan after the Hurdler’s whereabouts breach – she missed 3 out of competition tests.

 

Onikeku reiterated that the AFN organizes regular athletes, support staff and coaches’ education so as to ensure that all parties are well informed and understand what is expected of them by the Global body with regards to Out-of-competition tests.
