Nigeria’s Super Eagles B lost 2-3 on a penalties to Cape Verde, after regulation time end 1-1 in their classification game of the WAFU Cup of Nations on Saturday.
The Eagles failed to win a game in the competition having lost 2-1 to Togo in their opening game.
Sikiru Alimi scored in the second-half (64′), in what was a cagey match up, but the Island Nation responded, and leveled up in the 87th minute.
After the final whistle, the sides couldn’t be separated and the match went into shootouts.

Eagles failed to convert three of their kicks and have been eliminated from the competition.
Cape Verde progress to the semi-final of the plate competition and will next face the winner between Liberia and Niger.
