Former Super Eagles player and ex-international, Mutiu Adepoju has submitted that he remains of the strong belief that the Eagles can go far at the AFCON this year, even as far as winning the trophy.
The Eagles last lifted the AFCON trophy six years ago in South Africa under the late Stephen Keshi, even as they will be featuring at the showpiece this year after missing out on the last two editions.
Adepoju speaking with www.brila.net added that despite the quality of other teams on the continent like Morocco, Senegal and Egypt, he strongly believes that the Eagles can still make their mark in Egypt later this year.
“The expectations is for the Eagles to go far, even as far as winning the cup, it won’t be easy but I believe they have the quality to do it”
“There are many quality teams now in the continent that are very strong….. You talk about Egypt, Morocco, Senegal etc”
“These countries are very strong, but I believe that with the quality of players we have, we can do it.
