Nigeria will face Ghana in the WAFU Nations Cup final following the Black Stars 2-0 win over Niger in Thursday’s second semi-final.
Sunday’s final will be the second time both teams meet in the ongoing WAFU tournament.
The previous encounter was in the final group A match, which Nigeria won 2-0 to advance to the semifinal of the WAFU competition.
On Thursday, Rabiu Ali’s solitary goal nailed a dogged Benin Republic team.
The Squirrels played with 10-men for 57 minutes following the sending off Marcelin Koukpo in the first half.
In the second Semi, Ghana defeated Niger 2-0 with goals from Kwame Kizito (31′) and Stephen Sarfo (78′).
With the victory against Benin, Nigeria has now reached three of the last four WAFU Cup finals, whilst Ghana is the defending champions.
Sunday’s decider will be played at the Cape Coast Stadium, after the third-place game between Benin and Niger.
