The Super Falcons completed a dominant display against Algeria with a 4-1 win in the second-leg of their international friendlies at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Lagos.
Nigeria secured their first-leg 2-0 at last week Tuesday at Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne.
Folashade Ijamilusi’s hat-trick was the highlight the afternoon, while Gift Monday added another goal to secure a second consecutive victory over the Green Ladies.
The action-packed encounter started quickly, with Ijamilusi opening the scoring in the 12th minute and doubling Nigeria’s lead just seven minutes later.
Algeria missed a penalty opportunity in the 39th minute, allowing Nigeria to maintain their two-goal advantage.
Shortly after, Alouache Ouassila pulled one back for Algeria in the 42nd minute, but Gift Monday restored the Falcons’ two-goal cushion with a brilliant finish just before halftime.
In the second half, Nigeria kept up the pressure, with Gift Monday nearly adding a fourth in the 48th minute, only to be denied by the crossbar.
Ijamilusi capped off her performance with her third goal in the 86th minute, securing her hat-trick and sealing the Super Falcons’ commanding 4-1 win.
