MFM FC of Lagos and NPFL leading topscorer Stephen Odey has set his sight on earning a call to Nigeria’s senior national team after been watched by Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr last Sunday in a league game between MFM FC and Elkanemi at the Agege stadium in Lagos.
Odey in a chat with www.brila.net said he believes his performance in the league so far will earn him a national call and earnestly wants to be part of the CHAN team from where he believes he will be able to further make a statement for inclusion into the main Super Eagles team.
Odey speaking on his performance in the game watched by Gernot Rhor said he didn’t leave up to his personal best in the game against Elkanemi despite scoring his 14th of the season from the spot.
“It is football and sometimes it happens like that, I didn’t really play to my best but I believe my performance this season is good enough to earn me a place in the national team although it is still down to the coaches. But I want to play for the CHAN national team.”
