NFF still hopeful of Ighalo’s AFCON participation

Nigeria Football Federation is  optimistic of striker Odion Jude Ighalo joing the team in Garou, Cameroon ahead of Eagles’ first game on Tuesday 11th January, 2022.

Super Eagles media Officer Babafemi Raji exclusively confirmed this to Brila at the Eagles hotel, Hotel le Ribadou, Garou.

Raji said Ighalo is gutted about about the refusal of Al shabab to release for AFCON 2021.

He, however, remains optimistic that he can find a way round it in no time so as to join the rest of the squad.

“Ighalo wants to be with the team, his heart his here but we are not oblivious of the refusal of his team to release him. If he comes fine, if he doesn’t, it wouldn’t affect our preparation” he said

He also confirmed the arrival of Tyronne Ebuehi who joined up with the team on Saturday morning.
