NFF Should Manage Super Eagles Crisis Urgently – Elumelu

Former member of the Technical Committee of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), Austel Elumelu has issued a stern warning to the NFF leadership about the urgent need to address the current situation in the Super Eagles.

Speaking to Brila.net, Elumelu said that delaying the appointment of the next Super Eagles coach could cause problems, as there will be very little time to familiarize with the Players before the next FIFA window in September.

“I don’t want to be seen as a pessimist, but I know we really have a crisis with football and the administration. What I would just say is that whatever they want to do between now and September, they should do it first. It’s not just appointing a coach,” Elumelu said.

“If you appoint a coach, the coach will have the opportunity to even check the profile of the players. Try to meet some of the players, you know, typically and not personally, and appoint himself with the players.”

Elumelu explained that hiring a coach as soon as possible will help to ensure a smoother transition and better preps for for coming matches.

The coach will be able to analyze player profiles and build connections with the players even before meeting physically.
