The Nigeria Football Federation has formally unveiled the Super Eagles’ World Cup jersey designed by Nike today (Wednesday) at a ceremony in London, England. The Nigeria Football Federation had earlier told journalists last month that the national team would kick-start their preparation for Russia 2018 with the unveiling of the kits for the tournament.
The kit looks similar to what Nigeria wore in the friendly against England in 1994.
Reports had earlier suggested the kits had some similarities with the jerseys Nigeria wore on the World Cup debut in 1994 in the United States of America. That should evoke some nostalgia as the Eagles were barely minutes away from reaching the quarterfinal against eventual finalists Italy in the USA.
The Super Eagles were kitted by Adidas for the 2010 and 2014 editions of World Cup.
The Super Eagles will wear the new kit on the 23rd of March when Nigeria face Poland in a friendly billed for Warsaw.
Four days later, the Eagles will also wear the new kits for another World Cup warm-up game against Serbia in London.
