First vice-President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Barr. Sheyi Akinwunmi has stated that the World Cup hasn’t been a total failure for the Eagles team.
Speaking to brila.net, The NFF Chief said there are a lot of positives to be taken from the Squad despite the early elimination faced by the team.
Akinwumi enumerated that dropping the average age of the players indicate a bright future for the present team and that the initial claim of targeting the world cup title was an aspiration to get the players into the belief that they can actually achieve anything they set out to achieve.
Nigeria got three points from the highly competitive Group D that comprise of Argentina, Iceland and Croatia.
