Interim head coach of the Super Falcons, Justin Madugu, has revealed that the NFF is working on plans for the national team but has yet to make any official decision regarding his status.
Speaking about his role, Madugu confirmed that he remains the interim coach, with no updates from the NFF on whether he will continue in the position or be replaced.
“The Federation is trying to work out something, and we are still waiting for confirmation from them,” Madugu stated.
“Nothing has changed so far. Nobody has said anything on the contrary, so we are still going the way it is until they make a different declaration.”
The uncertainty comes as the Super Falcons prepare for upcoming 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
With the NFF looking to integrate more home-based players into the national setup, President Ibrahim Gusau earlier stated the importance of domestic talent development.
He mentioned that planned are underway to organize training camps where players from the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) can showcase their abilities and compete for spots in the senior team.
However, the lack of clarity on the coaching position could impact long-term planning for the Super Falcons.
