NFF Invites 35 Players For CHAN Qualifier Against Ghana

Nigeria’s Interim head coach, Augustine Eguavoen has named a 35-man squad for the Super Eagles B team ahead of their 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifying fixture against Ghana.

Headlined by Ismail Sadiq, who featured in Nigeria’s FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifier against Bénin Republic in Abidjan, the list features only NPFL players.

Among the notable invitees by Eguavoen includes Wisdom Ndon, striker Zikifilu Rabiu, and Kazeem Ogunleye.

However, a debatable omission is Super Eagles winger, Ahmed Musa who joined Kano Pillars this season.

The 32 year-old has made four appearances and scored two goals. Musa has never featured for the CHAN Eagles, and it’s uncertain if he was approached by the selectors.

Nigeria’s bid to return to the tournament will get underway in December, with the first leg scheduled between 20th and 22nd, while the second leg holds the following weekend.

According to the competition rules, winner of the tie over two legs will secure a CHAN 2025 ticket.h

For the first time in the competition’s history, it’ll be co-hosted by three Countries; Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.

Meanwhile, all invited players are expected to be in their Abuja camp on October 29, according to a statement by the NFF.

Nigeria has failed to qualify for the last two editions of the CHAN tournament, and it’s best performance a runners up finish in Morocco.
