The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), has denied reports making round that the Golden Eaglets Coach Manu Garba has been sacked.
This is coming after the team’s elimination from the ongoing FIFA U-17 World Cup in Brazil on Wednesday.
The Manu Garba tutored team went down 1-3 in the round of 16 clash against the Netherlands.
However Secretary General of the NFF, Dr Sanusi Mohammed has now refuted claims that coach Manu Garba has been dismissed from his role with the team.
He stated that NFF would require a full technical report on the team’s arrival which will be presented by Technical Committee headed by Ahmed Yusuf Fresh who led the Eaglets to Brazil before the board can take any decision.
“I know that much was expected from the team and many football pundits favoured the Eaglets to lift the trophy being a five-time winner of the cadet championship but you know in football anything can happen, “ Sanusi said.
“Though I was not particularly happy with our ouster it doesn’t warrant the federation sacking a coach with valid contract.
“I can tell you categorically that Coach Manu Garba has not been sacked by the federation.” he said.
