NFF Chief hails Super Eagles’ youngsters

First Vice President of the Nigeria Football Federation [NFF] Barrister Seyi Akinwumi has hailed the composition of the current Eagles team.

The NFF top man applauded the team From the players to the coach believing the time is ripe to have the team create their own success story.

Akinwumi, spoke to brila.net’s Babafemi Raji earlier today on Sports Machine ahead of the World Cup draws coming up on 1st December.

The football administrator said the team has a good number of enthusiastic youngsters who want to excel which is a big plus for the team.

“As you can see, we have a lot of young and promising players in the team right now, it’s a plus to the team”, the future is secured. Akinwumi said.

Meanwhile, The President of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Amaju Pinnick, has said the Super Eagles will get five more friendly games before the World Cup tournament in Russia.

Pinnick said the football federation is targeting teams higher in ranking than the Super Eagles.

“We are looking at a minimum of playing five top class friendlies before the World Cup proper.

“We are looking at countries that are above us in the ranking and countries that are in the top 10 of world football ranking and countries that are in the World Cup as well,” Vanguard quoted the NFF boss as saying.

He further revealed that some of the countries have been approached and the NFF is expecting to tie down dates for those games.

Also, the newspaper quoted Super Eagles midfielder, Ogenyi Onazi, as saying a friendly with England will be a good idea for the team after the Argentina test.
