NFF celebrates Alex Iwobi at 24

Nigeria Football Federation has celebrated Super Eagles star Alex Iwobi who turns 24 today, May 3rd 2020.

 

The Nigerian football governing body took to the social media handle to wish the Everton forward a lovely birthday.

 

 

Happy birthday @NGSuperEagles midfielder, @alexiwobi. Have agood one.”NFF tweeted.

 

 

Born in Lagos, Iwobi moved to England with his parents at the age of four and grew up in Newham, London, where he began his journey into the round leather game.

 

 

He joined Arsenal at the age of eight and went on to play for the club at the senior and made over 149 appearances, winning the FA Cup before his departure last summer.

 

 

Iwobi who was named 2016 CAF Youth Player of the Year is currently the most expensive Nigeria players following his £30m transfer to Everton.

 

 

He has made  Super Eagles appearances for the Super Eagles, playing at the 2018 world cup in Russia and 2019 African cup of Nations in Egypt where the team finished third.
