Golden Eaglets captain Samson Tijani had hinted that the team has learnt their lesson after defeat in last Group game against Australia at the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Brazil last Friday.
The five-time African champions failed to come back and claim victory over the young Australian side after doing so in their first two games against Hungary and Ecuador.
Tijani who won the man of the match award in the comeback with over Hungary and other regulars are now expected to return to the line up for the Wednesday’s round of 16 clash with Netherlands.
The youngster said the team will fight to stay in the competition after the game against the Dutch, before lauding their fighting spirit and winning mentality.
“We don’t relent,” Tijani told FIFA.com of his team’s proclivity for late rallies.
“We don’t give up easily. We force ourselves to keep pushing until we get the win.”
The Golden Eaglets will face the Netherlands in the Round of 16 from 12am Wednesday November 6 (Nigerian time), at the Estadio Olimpico, Goiania.
