Wilfred Ndidi is making a “very fast recovery” from a hamstring injury and is well on his way to return to fitness and will be available for Nigeria at the world cup according to the team’s Media officer Toyin Ibitoye.
There were initial fears Ndidi could be out for a long spell, jeopardizing his world cup chances after he got injured during club duties for Leicester City in the Premier League.
But Ibitoye confirmed on Brila FM’s Sports Machine, that ‘The guy will be ready for the world cup; 100% ready for the world cup.
‘He’s making very fast progress. He’s going to be fit for the world cup. The national team doctors and physios have been in touch with him.
‘He’s a young player and a proper professional, so we are confident his recovery will go as planned; even better. But, he might play in just one friendly game for the Super Eagles,’ Ibitoye explained.
