Ndidi Wants New Super Eagles Role

  • Ndidi played in advance roles for Leicester last season

  • He scored 5 goals and assisted 4 during the League campaign

  • Ndidi has primarily played as Super Eagles holding Midfielder

Super Eagles Midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has expressed the willingness to play in any position assigned by head coach Finidi George.

“wherever he puts me, I’ll be so excited to give my best.” – Ndidi

Despite playing primarily as a DM in the national team, Ndidi has showed up in attacking positions and advanced roles for Leicester City last season, and helped the Foxes gain Premier League promotion.

His five goals and four assists in 36 games, mark the Nigerian’s most significant goal contributions since his professional debut.

When questioned about his willingness to undertake a similar role within the national team setup, Ndidi affirmed:

“We have our coach (George) Finidi and it’s his tactics that matter, wherever he wants anyone to play.”

“He sees the team the way he wants the team to play. The role I played in Leicester was attacking midfield and I came back to help the defence, which is normal and natural for me.

“But I don’t know how the coach is going to approach the game against South Africa but wherever he puts me, I’ll be so excited to give my best and help the team to win,” He told Punch.

Wilfred Ndidi will be on international duties with Nigeria for next month’s World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin Republic.
