Super Eagles Head Coach Gernot Rohr has called up midfielder Anderson Esiti as replacement for the injured Wilfred Ndidi.
Esiti, who joined PAOK Thessaloniki from Belgian side KAA Gent, last played for the Super Eagles in 2016.
Ndidi picked up a hamstring injury last week and has missed two straight for Leicester City since.
There’s is indication when the midfielder will return, but Rohr’s decision means he is certain to miss proper recovery time for Nigeria’s international friendly against Ukraine on September 10.
Meanwhile, left-back Bryan Idowu has also been recalled by the Eagles Coach. The Russia based defender last featured for Nigeria at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Rohr’s latest decision was confirmed on the NFF’s official twitter handle.
