Leicester City manager Ruud van Nistelrooy has shared encouraging news about Wilfred Ndidi’s recovery from a hamstring injury, revealing that the Nigerian midfielder could return to full training next week.
Ndidi has been sidelined since December 28, 2023, when he suffered the injury during Leicester City’s 2-2 Premier League draw with Brighton & Hove Albion at the King Power Stadium.
The 28-year-old was substituted in the 58th minute and has not featured for the Foxes since.
The injury has limited Ndidi to just two matches under Van Nistelrooy, who took over as Leicester’s manager earlier in the season. However, the Dutchman expressed optimism about the player’s progress.
“The players that were available against Fulham are available at this moment for Spurs on Sunday. Wilf is making good progress in his rehabilitation.
Hopefully, he can be a part of team training at some point next week,” Van Nistelrooy told the club’s official website.
Before his injury, Ndidi had been an important part of Leicester’s campaign, contributing four assists in 15 league appearances this season.
