National wrestling coach Akuh Purity has revealed that 2019 All Africa Games will serve an extra purpose for Nigerian wrestlers beyond the target of doing well at the games but also a platform to assess what the team will look like ahead of the world championship which will come up just a few weeks after the All Africa games in Morocco.
Purity speaking in a chat with www.brila.net said they have some competition in view as well but will have to start thinking of ways to make the most of any competition should there be any reason to miss out on any.
He added that the All Africa games, for instance, will come in handy as preparation for the world championship.
“We need to prepare, we have some tournaments in view and if we are not able to attend all we will train well and work hard to reclaim the title at the All Africa games and we will use this to get set for the world championship.”
The Nigeria wrestling Federation intend to dominate at the wrestling event of the All Africa games again.
