President of Nigeria Wrestling Federation, Daniel Igali has expressed his delight at the day one performances of the athletes competing at the ongoing National Wrestling classics in Yenogoa, Bayelsa State.
Speaking to brila.net, President, Nigerian Wrestling Federation, Dr. Daniel Igali, said that the completion will be used to select wrestlers who will represent Nigeria during the 12th edition of the All-African games in Morocco later in the year.
According to him, Nigerian wrestlers to be looked out for during the competition, includes; (120kg) Sinivie Boltic, First time Africa champion, (57kg) Adekuoroye Odunayo, 5 time Africa champion, two time commonwealth & World silver medalist, Soso Tamarau, three time Africa champion, (68kg) Oborodudu Blessing, an eight-time Africa champion and Commonwealth champion.
Others include; Melvin Bibo, two time Africa champion, Adeniyi Aminat, 4 time Africa Champion, 2 time Commonwealth champion, John Emmanuel, 3 time Africa champion, Nwoye Ifeoma, 2 time Africa champion, (48kg) Genesis Mercy, 2 time Africa champion, and Amas Daniel, 5 time Africa champion.
Igali also said the championship will feature events in cadet wrestling, Freestyle, Greco Roma, Senior male, and female wrestling.
