Akwa United woes in the 2019 Nigeria professional football league continues as they suffered another defeat in the hands of Nasarawa United at Lafia township stadium on Monday.
After two draws and a defeat in the first three game of the season, the promise keepers took their search for first win in the league to Lafia but the trip ended in another disappointing 2-0 defeat to Nasarawa United who are also struggling for form.
Nasarawa United started the game like house on fire but was unlucky not to go into the half-time break with a at least a goal lead.
The Bala Nikyu side finally got their breakthrough in the 9th minutes of the second half through Sodiq Ololade who fired past Ojo Olorunleke in goal for the visitors.
However the Rafael Everton’s side failed to respond after the goal as it Nasarawa United started to dictate the tempo of the game.
The Solid Miners wrapped up the game in the last minute of addedtime as Daddy Morri long range effort caught Ojo Olorunleke napping to send the home fans into ecstasy after heartbreak of back to back defeat to El Kanemi Warriors and Heartland FC.
Rafael Everton is now under increasing pressure to turn the Club’s season around with no win so far from four matches in the difficult abridged leagu.
The defeat leaves Akwa United in the bottom of NPFL Group B table with two points from possible twelve.
