Musa Compares Peseiro’s Super Eagles to 2013 AFCON Champions

Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa has appealed to the fans to get behind the team for glory at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Nigeria will open its campaign the 2023 AFCON, on January 14, against Equatorial Guinea and Musa has assured that the Super Eagles will get off to a flyer.

The Super Eagles have adopted the #Let’s Do It Again” slogan for the campaign to build buzz around the team, and in their bid to win the tournament for the first time since 2013.

Ahmed Musa, who himself was a member of the team that won Nigeria’s last AFCON title, promised that the current squad are capable of repeating the feat.

“Since after the last game in Uyo that the campaign started ‘Let’s Do it Again’, we’ve been talking to each other that this is the time for us to go there and shine,” Musa told the NFF Media Channel.

“When you see the names in the 25-man squad, you can’t say we are not going there to win.”

“In football anything can happen but we have that confidence. When the coach came the target he set for himself is to win the Africa Cup of Nations and by the grace of God we are going there to do that.

“The message I have for Nigerians is just believe in the team, that’s the only thing we need. With their support we can go far.”
