An Olympic silver medal, Two Commonwealth gold medals and Three African Games gold medals are just a few among the glittering honors in the trophy cabinet of Nigerian sprint Queen, Blessing Okagbare-Ighoteguonor, but she wants one more accolade and its the blue tick of Twitter’s verification.
Okagbare laid into the social networking service for denying or “delaying” her verification.
The 30 year-old, who is one of Africa’s biggest Sports figure, has been a Twitter user for 9 years.
However, she has had very limited activity on the platform; tweeting just over 360 times since activating her handle. She has just under 8,000 followers.
On Monday, a day after posting her season’s best time in the Women’s 100 metres final at the London Diamond League, Okagbare queried Twitter for an explanation why she hasn’t been verified yet.
“Me seriously wondering when my Twitter account will be verified… Is my account not official enough or what seem to be the problem/delay??? Asking for my self oooo.. Ya’ll need to help me on this.”

The question drew reactions from fans, including some demanding Twitter to verify the account while others mocked her inconsistency on the platform.
@verified @Twitter What else do you want from the Queen of tracks before you verify her account?
