Jose Mourinho has hinted that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will remain with Manchester United for next season.
Swedish striker Ibrahimovic is now a free agent after his one-year deal at Old Trafford expired.
But he is continuing the recovery from his ACL knee injury at United’s Carrington training ground while the rest of the first-team squad prepare for the new season in the United States.
And he showed off the results of his hard work with an Instagram post alongside King Kong.
Ibrahimovic, 35, looks ripped after a long summer of gym work to aid his recovery.
His comeback remains ahead of schedule and he is hoping to secure a new deal at United for the new season.
Despite bringing in Romelu Lukaku for £75million this summer, Mourinho has hinted that in six months time he intends to have his “important, strong striker” back in action.
“We spent big money on a striker because, with strikers, you either spend or you don’t get,” the United boss said.
“And we spent because of what happened to Zlatan and we cannot allow ourselves to be without an important, strong striker for the first six months of the season.”
