Moses Simon’s goal fails to rescue Nantes
241
Moses Simon scored his third league goal of the season for FC Nantes, but it was not enough to save them from defeat.
The Canaries lost 3-2 to Lorient, who themselves paraded two Nigerians Innocent Bonke and Terem Moffi, on Sunday at the Stade du Moustoir.
Simon played from start to finish for Nantes, and he got the second goal for Antoine Kombouaré’s side in the 85th minute.
Moffi and Bonke also started the match for Lorient, but were replaced in the second half.
The visitors drew the first blood through Ignatius Ganago in the 13th minute, but the lead lasted for just six minute as Dango Ouattara restored parity for the hosts.
Two second-half goals from Yoann Cathline and Ibrahim Kone put Lorient in firm control, before Simon reduced the deficit five minutes from time.
Lorient however held on to take all three points and moved up to fourth on the Ligue 1 table in the process.
