Super Eagles and Nantes winger Moses Simon will undergo surgery in the coming days, as confirmed by Nantes manager Antoine Kamboure.
The 29-year-old sustained the injury during Nantes’ 4-1 loss to Brest last weekend.
Simon played the full 90 minutes of the match and contributed an assist for Nantes’ only goal.
Simon will miss the upcoming Coupe de France clash against JA Drancy on Saturday due to the surgery.
Kamboure explained that the short break in the schedule provided the ideal opportunity for the operation, which will allow Simon around two weeks of recovery before he can rejoin the team.
“We are taking advantage of this period, with the short break coming up, for him to have this operation.
“It will give him a period of two weeks before he can calmly resume with the group.”
So far this season, Simon has made 14 appearances, registering four goals and five assists.
This is not the first time Simon has faced injury struggles, as he was sidelined for the latter part of last season after undergoing surgery for an injury he sustained while on international duty in March.
The Super Eagles winger will be hoping for a swift recovery and return to action, as he looks to build on his strong performances for both club and country.
