But Simon, who has settled seamlessly since his summer switch from FC Nantes, stepped up again for the capital club.
The 30-year-old restored Paris FC’s lead in the 67th minute with a composed finish, and this time, Metz had no answer.
The victory was a massive relief for Paris FC, who climbed off the foot of the table and recorded their first top-flight triumph since promotion.
For Simon, it was yet another statement display, with the Nigerian now involved in three goals in his first three appearances for the club.
His sharp form comes as a huge boost for the Super Eagles, who are gearing up for crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers next week.
