Moses Simon suffered an injury during Paris FC’s final preseason game — a 3-2 win over his former club, Nantes.
The injury forced him off at halftime, and he was replaced by Alimami Gory, who went on to score the equalizer.
Fortunately for Simon and the club, the injury does not appear to be serious.
Paris FC will kick off their Ligue 1 season on Sunday, August 17, against Angers.
Simon received a warm welcome from Nantes, where he was honored with a framed photo of him holding the French Cup — a trophy he won with the club. He also received a standing ovation from 10,000 fans.
The Nigerian winger expressed his gratitude to Nantes supporters via Instagram. He wrote:
“Thank you for the welcome during #ParisFC 🟡🔵 vs #FCNantes 🔵⚪. Honored by the tribute, happy to play again in front of the Nantes supporters and to meet up with former teammates 💛💚.”
Simon made 201 appearances for Nantes, scoring 37 goals and providing 42 assists in all competitions.
