Bayelsa Queen Technical Adviser Moses Aduku has aimed a slight dig at Super Falcons head Coach Thomas Dennerby for snubbing “the best” goalkeeper in the country Alaba Jonathan.
The Bayelsa Queens goalie was overlooked for the 2018 CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, which Nigeria eventually won, but Aduku insists Alaba was denied a position in the squad unjustly.
Three goalkeepers were picked, Tochukwu Oluehi (Rivers Angels), Chiamaka Nnadozie (Rivers Angels) and Christy Ohiaeriaku (Confluence Queens) all from the NWPL, but Adiku told brila.net that Alaba had been a standout performer at the time and should have made the trip to Ghana.
Months later the goalkeeper would help her team win the NWPL Super 4 an indication the national team selectors were biased according to Aduku.
