Former Eagles assistant coach, Emmanuel Amunike said Morocco’s World Cup story proved that African teams can compete at the highest level and excel.
Amunike, added that the semi-final defeat to defending Champion, France, won’t overshadow Morocco’s extra-ordinary run in the tournament.
“For me, they have made history regardless of their defeat. They can now look back and see how they can improve on their achievements,” Emmanuel Amunike said.
“They have shown the world that Africans have the quality to win the World Cup if they truly believe in themselves,” He told the Punch.
Morocco suffered a 2-0 defeat to France to set up a third place meeting with Croatia in the Third place playoff.
