More quality Players in Nigeria than Cameroon – Paul Put

The Super Eagles have more quality players in their ranks and are favorites to pick the 2018 world cup ticket from group B at the expense of African champions Cameroon according to USM Alger coach, Paul Put.

Nigeria, who top group B with maximum points from two games, will host Cameroon on August 31st and September 4th in home and away games of their 2018 World Cup qualifiers.

Meanwhile, Coach Put believes the level of preparation and players confidence could decide which team comes out tops.

The 61-year-old Belgian is quite familiar with the quality of Nigerian players at the highest level on the continent.

Put led Burkina Faso to the final of the Africa Cup of Nations in 2013 where his side faced Nigeria.

The sides had met in the group stage of the tournament, the game ended 1-1.

They both advanced and once again faced off in the final but the Étalons lost 1-0 to Nigeria.

‘You couldn’t say Nigeria have less quality than Cameroon. Although, I think what will make the difference on the day between the countries is the level of preparation and confidence.

‘In any case, I think that Nigeria still have a better team and chance to reach the World Cup than Cameroon,’ Put told brila.net
