Super Falcons forward Gift Monday has expressed great joy after scoring in UDG Tenerife’s 1-1 draw with Eibar.

The Spanish Iberdrola match took place on Sunday afternoon, with Tenerife playing at home.

Monday led the attack alongside fellow compatriot Rinsola Babajide.

Eibar had took an early lead, scoring in the 1st minute, but the Nigerian netted the equalizer in the 28th minute, ensuring the points were shared.

“I’m glad to have scored a goal for UDCA Tenerife in our draw against Eibar! Despite the result, I’m proud of our team’s fighting spirit. We’ll keep improving! Better days ahead,” she said.

Tenerife are currently 9th on the table with one game remaining in the season.

Monday is set to join the Super Falcons for the upcoming Olympic in Paris, marking the team’s first qualification in 16 years.
