Mo Salah’s ‘Never Give Up’ T-shirt sums up Liverpool’s Barcelona win

While Liverpool’s 4-0 victory over Barcelona to reach the Uefa Champions League final was a shock to most football fans, Mohamed Salah proved to be a believer from the start.

Liverpool’s Egyptian forward was forced to sit out Tuesday’s thriller at Anfield after suffering a concussion in Saturday’s 3-2 win against Newcastle United.

Salah, 26, sat in the stands and wore a T-shirt with the slogan “Never Give Up” on it.

It certainly proved accurate as Liverpool surpassed all expectations by bouncing back from 3-0 down to the Spanish champions after the first leg to prevail 4-3 on aggregate courtesy of twin strikes from Divock Origi and Georginio Wijnaldum.

Salah referenced his shirt on social media after the game. He tweeted of a picture of himself with the shirt “Caption included”.

The African Footballer of the year will now hope to be part of Liverpool’s team for the final on June 1 in Madrid against either Ajax or Tottenham Hotspur as the Merseyside side bid to win the European Cup for the sixth time.
