Former Super Eagles skipper John Mikel was in action for Stoke City in their Tuesday’s championship game on Tuesday.
Mikel retained his place in the starting line up for eight consecutive games, but could not prevent the Potters from suffering 2 – 0 at the Liberty Stadium.
The Potters went into the game at the back of their 3 – 2 home win over Brentford on Sunday, but they were brought down to earth as Jay Fulton put in the home side in front at 30 minutes.
The Michael O’Neil tutored side threatened for many parts of the game to find an equalizer, but it was Swansea City who sealed the three points through goal from Kasey Palmer in the 89th minutes.
Stoke City however dropped to the ninth position on the table as the result of the defeat, while Swansea City moved up to the second position.
