Former Nigerian captain John Mikel Obi has set his sight of winning trophies with his new club Kuwait Sporting Club.
Mikel signed one year deal with the Club last month and was unveiled officially by the club along with three new players on Monday.
The 34-year-old has since began training with the team and he is expected to lead the title charge for the Carlos Gonzalez’s side next season.
Speaking to the Club’s website, Mikel, thanked the management of the club for trusting him and he pledged to help win the championship this season.
“I am happy to be here, in this great club hoping to win trophies together this season,”
“For the management and the fans, thank you for your warm welcome, I am ready for the new challenge.” he said.
Mikel has not won a trophy since parting ways with English side Chelsea in 2017.
Kuwait SC missed out on the league title last season as they finished third behind Al-Qadsia and champions Al-Arabi.
