Former Super Eagles captain, John Mikel Obi has thanked everyone, including his partner Olga Dyachenko for giving him a special surprise bash on his 33rd birthday.
Mikel who turned 33 on Wednesday was celebrated by the fans, the Nigeria Football Federation, his former club Chelsea, before Olga delivered a special treat to wrap up the day.
Mikel and the children enjoyed a special party organized by Olga as they spent time together in their London home inspite of the lockdown.
The 2013 African cup of winning midfielder later took to his social handle to appreciate his spouse and everyone who celebrated the special moment with him.
Mikel wrote : “Thank you for all the kind messages and wishes! And thank you my love @olga_allegra for organising the most special surprise.”
Mikel made 90 appearances for the Super Eagles, appearing in four African cup of Nations and two FIFA world Cup.
He also played for Nigeria at the FIFA U-17 and U-20 World cup in Finland and Netherlands respectively.
Mikel who is the most decorated Nigerian player played for Plateau United, Lyn Oslo, Chelsea, Tianjin Teda and Trabzonspor in his decorated career.
He made 372 appearances for Chelsea across ten seasons, won two English Premier League, four FA Cup four , two League Cup twice, UEFA Champions League once and Europa League.
Mikel won the silver ball at the 2005 FIFA U-20 World Cup in the Netherlands, he was named Chelsea young player of the year twice.
He also won CAF young player of the year and was named in CAF first eleven twice, before finishing as the runner up to Yaya Toure for 2013 African footballer of the year award.
