Michelle Alozie ready to take more penalty kicks in the future

Super falcons World Cup star Michelle Alozie is determined to not let her penalty miss against England define her career.

The American born defender missed her penalty as Super Falcons bowed out of 2023 women’s following 2-4 penalty defeat to Lioness of England on Monday.

Alozie in chat with the media says Penalty kicks can be quite intense and unpredictable, even for experienced players.

She’s determined to find the strength to move forward and continue to contribute positively to her team in future matches.

“I cannot  allow the penalty miss to hunt me. I have to move forward. Obviously, I am disappointed in myself for not converting the chance I got in the game and my penalty miss,” Alozie told reporters at the mixed zone of Suncorp stadium in Brisbane, Australia.

“It was not just meant to be. God has a plan for my life. So, I just have to move on.

”This is my first World Cup experience and I am really proud of my group. This team is amazing. No more tears shedding.

“I have never blasted my penalty over the goal post. It happens in football. I just have to keep practicing, be a little more composed in those high intense moment and be better next time,” she said.
