When you play against the best in the best football league in the world their work ethic rub off and for Michael Olunga, Saturday’s hat-trick against Las Palmas could be the first of many to come.
Olunga was a super sub in La Liga at the weekend, coming off the bench to scorer a 22-minute hat-trick – the first Kenyan to even score in the Spanish top flight.
The 23-year-old, who is on loan from Guizhou Zhicheng, told Tony Bekederemo on Brila FM’s Center Circle that playing in the Catalonia club, Girona, has been a learning curve.
‘ I’m grateful to achieve this feat. It is down to Hard work. I thank teammates and want to continue working hard. We’ll continue celebrating this with hard work.
‘Playing in La Liga; the best league in the world, You learn a lot playing against the biggest clubs; Madrid and Barcelona, and the best players in the world Messi and Ronaldo.’
