Leicester City manager, Enzo Maresca has explained why forward Kelechi Iheanacho was not listed in the weekend’s clash against Plymouth Argyle on Saturday.
Iheanacho was a surprise omission from the Foxes’ squad and it was the first time, he’s missed any game this season.
The Foxes however didn’t missed the forward as they 4-0 to maintain their league on Championship table.
Maresca, in a post-match statement, shed light on the decision to omit the Nigerian, providing insight into the circumstances surrounding the notable exclusion.
“Kel (Kelechi Iheanacho) is ill,” he revealed on lcfc.com. “Jamie [Vardy] had some problem and Macca (Kasey McAteer) has a muscular problem. I don’t think [they will be in contention for Millwall]. We’ll see but it’s difficult.”
The 27-year-old’s has made 18 appearances with 5 goals and 2 assists to show for his efforts.
