Manchester United to pick up half of Odion Ighalo’s £300,000-a-week wages in addition to fresh loan fees paid to Shanghai Shenhua.
With the confirmation of Odion Ighalo’s loan extension at Manchester United until January, the Premier League side are to pay a £6m loan fee as well as £130,000 of his £300k-a-week salary.
There is no option or obligation for United to buy the 30-year old striker at the expiration of the deal on January 31.
The extension comes after problems over the player’s return to China convinced the Chinese Super League club – who will receive a total of £10.5m, with the £6m loan fee and £130,000-a-week salary combined – to let him stay at Old Trafford.
