Rivers United forward Malachi Ohawume has asserted that team success important than personal recognition, after scoring in a 3-2 away win vs Dakkada FC.
Dakkada FC hosted Rivers United in a Nigeria Professional Football League matchday 30 fixture held at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Saturday, May 28.
Malachi Ohawume netted a brace in the game as Rivers United come from behind on picking the three points.
His brace helped them maintain a 7 points lead on top of the NPFL log with 8 matches left and he admitted that his side’s victory is more important than his goal-scoring record.
“I am happy because getting a brace in the NPFL is not easy, I getting it was not even for me, I got it for the team. I am happy that at the end of the end, we got the result. ” He said.
