Maja scores first career hattrick in Bordeaux win over Nimes

Super Eagles attacker Josh Maja continued his frightening goal scoring form when notched a stunning hat-trick  against Nimes in the French ligue one clash at the Stade Matmut Atlantique Stadium on Tuesday.

Bordeaux recorded a 6-0 over Nimes and it was Maja who stole the headline with his first career hattrick on the night.

 

Fresh from his goal against Reims over the weekend, the former Sunderland man scored his first in the 24th when he beat an offside trap to open his account for the day.

 

Maja then added the second in the 37th minute when he was connected with a pass from Yacine Adli.

 

The one-cap Super Eagles then completed his hattrick in the 53rd minute to become the fourth Nigerian to do score thrice in a French ligue one game.

 

Maja who joined Peter Odemwingie, John Utaka (3 times) and Victor Agali on the list of Nigerians with hattrick in the division also assisted Nicolas de Preville for the fourth goal, before Henrique Otavio grabbed other two goals.

 

Meanwhile Maja’s compatriot Samuel Kalu came off the bench in the 66th minute to replace Nicolas de Preville.
