Udinese cruised into the next round of the Coppa Italia with a commanding 4-0 victory over Avellino, thanks in no small part to a stellar performance by Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye.
Okoye was a formidable presence in goal, making two crucial saves to keep Avellino at bay, as Udinese advanced to the round of 16.
The match saw Udinese take the lead just before halftime, with Brenner finding the net in the 41st minute.
Udinese doubled their advantage early in the second half when Florian Thauvin converted a penalty in the 50th minute.
Lorenzo Lucca made it 3-0 just eight minutes later, further securing Udinese’s dominance.
Keinan Davies then capped off the win with a fourth goal in the 87th minute.
Okoye, who cemented his place as Udinese’s first-choice goalkeeper last season, expressed satisfaction with both his performance and the team’s result.
The 24-year-old played a crucial role in Udinese’s survival in Serie A last season, making 23 appearances.
