Goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye has confirmed that he will not be leaving Udinese during the January transfer window.
The 25 year-old, who nearly joined Inter Milan last summer, revealed that a proposed move fell through due to Udinese’s €15 million asking price.
“The interest from Inter was concrete, but Udinese were asking for €15m to buy me,” Okoye stated in an interview with Transfermarkt.
“It would’ve been a dream, but I don’t regret how things went. I am happy to still be at this club and to be the number one here. The situation could repeat itself if I keep working hard and maintain constant performances.”

When asked about a potential January transfer, Okoye expressed his desire to remain in Italy.
“I want to stay in Italy; this is a choice I have made. I like this land, the people in it, and the atmosphere. I am happy in Udine and want to help the club secure as many points as possible.”
Okoye added, “I don’t see myself being elsewhere in January, as my focus is all on Udinese. I want to end the season here and continue working with Runjaic, who is a very important coach for me.”
So far this season, Okoye has kept two clean sheets in seven league appearances and has made a total of 23 saves.
