Macleans Chinonyerem Scores First Goal for Al Shabab in Saudi Women’s Premier League

Nigeria forward, Macleans Chinonyerem registered her first goal for Al Shabab in the Saudi Women’s Premier League at the weekend, but it was not enough to prevent a 6-2 defeat at the hands of Al Ahli.

Al Shabab trailed 2-0 at halftime, with Ghana’s Alice Kusi and Moroccan international Ibtissam Jraidi scoring for the visitors.

Maria Diaz Cirauqui scored a goal to pull one back for the visitors but Jraidi’s second goal restored Al Ahli’s two-goal lead in the 63rd minute.

Chinonyerem scored her first goal for Al Shabab just three minutes later, her first since joining from Lokomotiv Moscow after the Paris 2024 Olympics.

However, Al Ahli’s Naomie Kabakaba responded with two more goals, and Jraidi completed her hat trick in the 85th minute, sealing the 6-2 victory.

This defeat was Al Shabab’s first of the season after winning their first two matches. They now sit in fourth place with six points from three games.
