Lookman’s Improvement Delights Gasperini

Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini has expressed admiration for the progress shown by Nigerian forward, Ademola Lookman throughout the current season.

Since joining Atalanta last season, Lookman has demonstrated significant improvement in his performance.

In the previous season, he contributed 13 goals and three assists in 31 appearances for La Dea.

Despite a slow start, Lookman gradually earned more playing time as the season progressed.

This season, Lookman has truly come into his own at Atalanta, emerging as one of the team’s key players.

In 21 games, he has scored eight goals and provided three assists.

Gasperini has been particularly impressed by Lookman’s development and commended the Nigerian forward following Atalanta’s match against Sporting.

“We all recognize Lookman’s potential and speed, but we must acknowledge that he hasn’t always played in such an attacking role,” Gasperini remarked, as reported by Pazzi di Fanta.

He continued, “He used to score 6/7 goals a year, but now he is quick, good at dribbling, and even strong with his head. I encourage him because every now and then, he fades from the game, but I believe that when he approaches the area, he can become a key player for our team.”

As Atalanta vies for a Champions League spot in Serie A, they remain just five points away from their target in the sixth position on the Serie A league table.

Gasperini hopes that Lookman’s continued progress and impact in the final matches of the season will help propel the club toward achieving their objective.
