The Nigerian finished as a the team’s top scorer of the campaign
Ademola Lookman was on target once again, notching his 17th goal of the season, across all competitions, despite Atalanta’s 3-2 defeat to Fiorentina.
Lookman’s remarkable performance saw him achieve a milestone as the only player to score a minimum of 10 goals in home matches during the 2023/24 Serie A campaign.
The Nigerian forward leveled the score in the 13th minute, swiftly responding to Andrea Belotti’s opener.
He received a well-timed through ball from Charles De Ketelaere, before delicately chipping the ball past debutant goalkeeper Tommaso Martinelli.
Lookman then turned provider in the 32nd minute as he assisted Giorgio Scalvini for Atalanta’s second goal of the match.
Ending the season on a high note, the Nigerian’s recent form has been nothing short of impressive, with five goals in his last three games, culminating in a total of 17 goals and nine assists across all competitions.
The 26-year-old winger reaffirmed his status as Atalanta’s key offensive weapon, finishing as the club’s top scorer for the second consecutive season.
The Nigerian international is the top contender for this year’s CAF Player if the year award.
